Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This page explains what happens to information when you visit DrumDesk. The short version is that our tools collect nothing at all, and the only third party involved in your visit is the advertising network that funds the site.
1. What our tools collect
Nothing. The Drum Tuner and the Rudiment Tempo Trainer run entirely in your browser. They do not request access to your microphone or any other input device, they do not transmit any audio, and they do not send any information to us or to anyone else.
Your selections — which drum you picked, what tempo you chose — exist only in the memory of the page you are looking at. They are not written to your device and are not stored anywhere. Refresh the page and they are gone.
2. Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs. Those logs typically include your IP address, the browser and operating system you are using, the time of the request, and which page was requested. This information is used only in aggregate, to keep the site working and to understand roughly how many people visit. It is not used to identify individuals and is not combined with any other data.
3. Cookies
DrumDesk itself does not set any cookies for the articles or the tools. You can read every page and use both tools with cookies blocked entirely.
Cookies may be set by third parties whose services appear on the site, principally our advertising provider. Details are below.
4. Advertising
DrumDesk is funded by display advertising, served through Google AdSense and its partner networks.
Google and its partners use cookies to serve adverts based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
Third-party vendors and ad networks may also place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, in the course of serving adverts on this site.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time:
- Google’s Ad Settings:
adssettings.google.com - Industry-wide opt-out for participating vendors:
www.aboutads.info/choices - European users:
www.youronlinechoices.eu
Opting out does not remove adverts from the site. It means the adverts you see are no longer based on your browsing history.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message is shown before any advertising cookie is set, and you may accept or refuse personalised advertising there. Your choice is recorded so that you are not asked again on every visit, and you can change it at any time using the link in the footer of any page.
5. Analytics
We currently use only the server logs described in section 2. If we add a web analytics service in future, this policy will be updated before it goes live, and the service will be configured to anonymise IP addresses where that option is available.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over personal data relating to you:
- The right to access the personal data held about you
- The right to have inaccurate data corrected
- The right to have your data deleted
- The right to object to processing, including processing for direct marketing
- The right to restrict how your data is used
- The right to receive your data in a portable format
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
Because we hold virtually no personal data ourselves, most requests of this kind relate to data held by our advertising partners, and those requests are best directed to them. We will help where we can: write to us using the details in section 9 and we will tell you what we hold, which in most cases is nothing.
7. California residents
California law gives residents the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. The sharing that takes place for personalised advertising can be limited using the opt-out links in section 4.
8. Children
DrumDesk is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests relating to your data, can be sent to [email protected]. Please put “Privacy” in the subject line.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or how it is used, the change will be described here and the date at the top of the page will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
